This course deals with mathematical modelling of various types of vehicles: road, off-road and rail, for analyzing ride comfort and lateral dynamics. Human response to vibration will also be presented. Issues related to suspension sytems, as well as modeling of road/track undulations will also be introduced.
Outcomes:
The student will be able to model a road, off-road or tracked vehicle, as well as its excitation for vertical or lateral dynamic studies and compute the response and assess its dynamic behavior.
