EE2005 : Electrical Machines and Lab

Learning Objectives: Familiarisation of the student with the basics of construction, theory and operation of electrical machines and transformers. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to (a) understand and differentiate between the basic varieties of machines / transformers and their relevance in applications (b) understand the basic nameplate specifications of a machine / transformer (c) Analyze and quantify the performance of machines / transformers in simple applications and arrive at performance metrics (d) understand the principles of control and operation of machines and transformers
