Dear Students
This semester I will be teaching a very basic course on Real Analysis. I Will be following topics from the following book
"Principles of Mathematical Analysis" by Walter Rudin.
I will try to cover as many exercises from the above book (within the syllabus) as possible. Sudeep Poddar (Math Research Scholar) will be the TA for this course. He will help you to solve assignment problems and clear your doubts. His email address is sudeeppodder1993@gmail.com. Please introduce yourself before writing any math problems to him.
Lectures :
I will do video recording of my lectures and post the link (once every week) in Moodle website. The first video lecture for week 1 is still not ready. I expect it to be ready by Wednesday. On every Friday (9-9:50 a.m.)
we will have an interactive session. In case you have very specific question regarding lectures please email me in advance so that time loss will be minimum during the live interaction.
Exams/Evaluation pattern:
Depending on class mood I will finally decide on evaluation pettern. I prefer the following distribution
Assignments (20) , Mid-Sem (30), End-Sem (50)
If any of your friend wish to register for the class but not able to please ask them to write few lines to
math office or dean academic office. I myself can not help much from here.
At last I welcome you all and wish you all the best.
Best,
Arijit
