It is often acknowledged in the literature that organizations design and try to implement solutions, only to find out that the solutions are aimed at some symptom of the real but not the real one. This can be seen while developing new products, services or businesses, in response to the competition. A major reason for ill-fitting solutions is because not enough time is spent in defining and characterizing the issues that impact the organization. The broad objective of this course would be to learn about problem-structuring approaches with an emphasis on how it can be applied to a real-world problem.
