This is a substantive course on Intellectual Property. The course shall give a brief overview of the IP landscape in India. It shall also dwell into the role of IP in the modern intangible economy. This course is designed to have a basic knowledge of the subject. The course is offered as a credit course for undergraduates by the DIPP IPR Chair at IIT Madras.

To enable students:
A. Develop awareness about intellectual property.
B. Understand the justifications and rationale for protecting intellectual property.
C. Understand specific aspect of intellectual property relevant in the intangible economy.
D. Communicate with lawyers, clients, and business partners regarding the protection of intellectual property.
E. Familiarize with the intellectual property landscape in India.
