The aim of the course is to provide an understanding on the basic phenomena, the underlying mechanisms governing metallic corrosion and on the degradation of polymers and composites. The discussion would be centered on the electrochemical principles of corrosion in natural environments. The course would combine theory and practice facilitating the student to recognize materials degradation problems.
